NEACDA is a parent-run, 501(c)(3) corporation in the Norristown Area School District. Our regular trainings are held monthly, alternating usually the second or third Tuesday of the month. These are held at the Norristown Public Library, 1001 Powell Street, at 6:00 p.m.

NEACDA exists to provide training, resources and networking to students, parents, educators and community stakeholders in order to provide meaningful social and educational opportunities for children with differing abilities. We work collaboratively with the Norristown Area School District and community organizations.

Committees:

The Childcare Committee works with our contracted caregivers to ensure coverage for each meeting and sets up and breaks down the childcare room before and after each meeting, including toys and food items.

The Facilities Committee is responsible for setup and breakdown of NEACDA meetings, ensuring equipment that presenters' needs are available and functioning.

The Fundraising Committee is responsible for developing a fundraising plan to provide support for NEACDA to reach goals set in the plan.

The Parent Resources Committee is NEACDA's lifeline to our parents and community ensuring our resource materials are in stock and up-to-date, handling any requests for referrals.

The Program Committee is responsible for the establishment of programs (speakers, events) for monthly and ad hoc meetings.

The Public Relations Committee keeps NEACDA in the news, promotes our regular meetings, and is responsible for developing and implementing a plan to raise the community's awareness of the needs of children with differing abilities and their parents, and the role NEACDA plays in the community.
